Water Treatment by Filtration

Filtration is a major method of water treatment and it is used in two main ways:

  1. Taste, odor and sediment are removed with mechanical filtration. Sometimes these are combined with activated charcoal or a KDF filter to remove chemicals after the water is treated with chemicals.
  2. Filters that either adsorb, kill or block pathogens
    • The Nano Alumina filter (Adsorption of pathogens)
    • The Slow Sand Filter (Kills pathogens with Biological action)
    • True blocking filters that only block pathogens like Reverse Osmosis or ceramic filters
